you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.
In
1973, there were just a handful of
Doctors experimenting with the revolutionary new concept of taking hair
from the back of a person's head and
transplanting it to a bald area to see if the hairs would grow. A
couple of Doctors from the
Chicagoland area decided to form Physicians' Hair Institute to dedicate
themselves to perfecting
this new technique called Hair Transplantation. Since then our goal has
been to perfect the art and science of hair trasplants.
What
started as a crude technique has been refined
to
today's follicular unit transplant technique. Today we transplant hair
the same way mother nature put the hair there originally; one, two,
three hairs at a time, with a final result that
is totally natural.

Folliculiar
Units
Follicular units (FUs) are the
"clumps" in which hairs
grow naturally. Most persons have one-quarter single hair FUs, one half
double hair FUs and one quarter three hair FUs. Grafts are small pieces
of skin, which contain follicular units. They are trimmed down to
nearly the size of the follicular unit. PCHI uses single hair FU grafts
for the front of the hairline, two hair FU grafts for about one finger
breath behind the hairline and grafts of one or two FUs containing
three or four hairs to use as filler grafts for the remainder of your
head. The three and four hair grafts cover the top, back and if needed
the sides of the head. We can do small sessions or mega-sessions
with our trained staff and doctors.
The hairline
zone can range from 1.5 to 3 cm depth. The frontal edge is
transplanted with single hairs, which are placed randomly along the
margin. One to two-hair FU's are place in the interior portion of the
zone. 500-1,200 FU's can be placed per session, depending on the
width of the zone.
Frechet
Extender Triple Flap Method
We are now
offering the Frechet Scalp Reduction procedure. This procedure is
being performed by Dr. Kalamaris who has been trained by Dr. Frechet,
is a patient of this method himself, and has performed this procedure
over the last few years.
General
Information:
- The
"Scalp Extension Technique" and
the "Frechet
Extender".
- The three Hair Bearing Transposition Flap or
"Frechet Flap" for
slot correction.
- These
combined techniques are the only approaches, which can treat
under local
anesthesia and without scalp difformity the 2 posterior thirds of an
extensive
baldness (up to 15 cm. wide usually) in 3 procedures and 2 months time
,the
frontal third is being treated as usual with FU's.
- The Microstrip Grafting Technique.
- The Occipito-Frontal Transposition Flap.

Eyelash
Eye
Lash Restoration is performed on those individuals
who have lost part or all of their eye brow hair due to
trauma or injury or just want longer thicker eyebrows. Follicles from
the head are used to replace the
missing eye brows. The texture of these follicles will differ from the
original and will also grow longer than those lost. Every effort will
be made to locate and use those hair follicles that most closely
resemble those lost.
While only single hair follicular units will be transplanted and will
help recreate a natural look, these hairs will grow longer than eye
brow hairs and it will be necessary to trim these hairs as they grow
longer.
The procedure costs $3000.00 per
eye and will replace up

Eyebrow
Eye Brow Restoration is performed
on

Temporal
Point
Restoration
Temporal
Point Restoration is
for those men that have to much loss for traditional hair
restoration.
These men tend to wear hair systems, but one
of the easy to spot signs is the lack of natural temporal points.
Let us recreate what nature took away. Over 50% of our patients
are satisfied with
the results of one Temporal Point Restoration and now enjoy a much more
natural
looking result from their hair system.
The
procedure costs $3000.00 and will replace up to
300 single follicular units on each temporal point.
While most of our
patients are satisfied after one procedure a second
procedure to add additional density may be wanted or needed.
Front and Crown Session:
This approach is used for
patients whose balding has extended beyond the frontal region to
include top and/or the vertex (crown). It produces excellent density
with a natural appearance. Typically, 1,000 - 2,000 FU's are placed
per treatment. Single hair follicular units are used along the hairline
and center of the crown whorl. Two hair units are used in the bordering
zone and 2-4 hair FU's of 1-2 follicular units are used for the
remainder of the area. Typically, one to three treatments are done to
achieve each patient's density goal. Small touch-up treatments may be
required over a period of several years for additional hair loss at the
margins of the balding pattern.
Full
Head Session:
This approach is used to treat
patients with mature balding patterns who wish to achieve the most
natural ap-pearing, dense results throughout their balding pattern.
Treatments typically range from 1,500-3,000 FU's each. One session
produces moderate uniform density. Two sessions provide higher density
and the most refined transplant possible. It is usually possible to do
small touch-ups, if desired. Grafts are follicular units of 1 - 4hairs
with 1-2 hairs at the hairline margin and whorl center, and 2-4 units
throughout the remainder of the pattern. PHI physicians have performed
over 13,000 Follicular procedures, and over 100,000
procedures over the last 25 years.

Area:
Hair follicles outide
your bald area are genetically coded to last a
lifetime, and most men
have an over-abundance of hair in these areas. It is this hair that is
transplanted (or relocated). Because it is your hair, it grows
